Whew, just one to go.
In dire situations, a lot of things go through one's mind. Of course, inquisition to the necessity of your own participation in the situation is a major aspect of it, but the answer to that question is rarely acquired. No, instead a whirlwind of mystery and horror take over and fester, each feeling battling one another for overall dominance.

For me, there were a lot of questions as I was tied up against a wall. Where am I? Who is that man? Is that the Gibson 45 Piece Stainless Steel Hostess Set? The first question was not answered. The answer to the second question was Brian, no last name given. The answer to the third was yes. I told Brian it was a nice set and he smiled.

As it turned out, the Gibson set was around so that Brian could launch them at me like some kind of twisted game of darts. More questions developed at that point. Why is he doing this? Am I going to die? The first question was not answered. The answer to the second question was, fortunately, no. He didn't tell me that at the time, but eventually he filled me in.

When the 45th utensil in the set whizzed by my ear and stuck into the wall next to my head, Brian clapped as if I had just won some kind of competition.

“Brilliant!” he exclaimed. “My boy, you have passed the test! You are now an immortal!”

I didn't believe him at first, but he proceeded to remove one of the knives from the wall and stab me in the heart. Not only did I stay alive, the stabbing didn't even hurt. We exchanged smiles and he sent me on my way, telling me somewhat cryptically that we would meet again eventually.
