Grant was the American you would look to for an example of how to be an American. He was a beacon of patriotism and a believer in all things related to the red, white and blue...except France...and anything else that has to do with those three colors and wasn't America. He loved America like it was his child and his grandfather at the same time.
One day, Grant's fate took a turn for the worse. On what was later determined to be a 1 in 48 duotrigintillion chance, he broke one of the inter-dimensional laws and was thrown behind bars in another dimension. All day long Grant was poked and prodded by curious toddlers. In that dimension, you were born old and gradually decreased in age before entering your mother at the end of your life to become one with her. If, by chance, your mother dies, you are doomed to suffocate to death for lack of an umbilical connection.
Ergo, it was the toddlers that ruled the dimension rather than the adults. Grant noted that despite certain key differences, life was pretty similar as his own dimension. Still, that was no consolation to being disturbed on a constant basis. One toddler even sprayed paint at him with the Paint Zoom PZ-001. He frequently spoke of America while in prison and dazzled his audiences with tales of freedom. After much public speculation, freedom was presented to Grant.
“What's this?” he asked as a small object was pushed through his food slot.
“Freedom,” jeered the security guard.
