Can’t you smell that smell?
After training and studying for years, Budd was finally headed into space. Like many others, he had a dream as a young child to become an astronaut, to be high up above the clouds in the vast expanse of space. He nearly shed tears when he got the call to go up on the next mission, LB-6, which was one of the first missions after a new program was unveiled to replace the retired Space Shuttle.
Budd could barely contain his excitement when the ship was about to take off. In fact, he was so bad at containing his emotions that his commanding officer was on the verge of kicking him off the mission. Fortunately for Budd, that never happened. Plus, that would be a rather extreme solution to something that would cost the government a very large sum of money.
So in the end, the rockets kicked on and a mass of smoke and dust accumulated underneath the craft as it lurched upwards and began soaring into the air. The sight was majestic for those stationed outside, but it all paled in comparison to what Budd was seeing. He had never gone that fast in any kind of vehicle before; it was completely exhilarating.
When they reached open space, Budd smelled something. At first, he thought it was too ridiculous to be true so he kept quiet. After that, and as the smell grew stronger, he had no choice but to pipe up.
“Do you guys smell that?” he asked his crewmembers. “It smells like barbecue.”
“Yeah, here,” said John, moving out of his seat. “Take a look out the window.”
Budd switched spots with John and took a gander out the window. To his surprise, there were some strange creatures hovering in space with a grill in front of them. They were even using the Chef’s Basics Select 7-Piece BBQ Set with Apron.
