After school, and before his parents got home, Harvey had another secret meeting with his secret girlfriend, Cynthia, in his room. His birthday was in a couple days so Cynthia gave him his present: the Embark Rolling Backpack.
“Wow, this is perfect; I can put my books and stuff in here! Thank you!”
They had to keep their relationship a secret because Harvey was born into a very religious family that did not like that Cynthia was raised to believe in a cyclone-shaped demi-god that would one day destroy all the banana oppressors.
“Why can’t you just forget about that god your parents are making you believe?” he asked.
“Because then I wouldn’t be able to go with the believers to Bananaland when Dathrokku comes to pass judgment.”
“Okay …”
Suddenly, Harvey heard a noise from downstairs; it was his father coming home. He called Harvey’s name and he could tell he was on his way to the bedroom. The two kids started to panic.
“What if you father sees that I’m here?” Cynthia asked nervously.
“Quick, get in the bag!”
Harvey tried as best he could to stuff Cynthia in the bag, but she wouldn’t fit. Maybe if she was more the size of a school book she would have, but she was just too big. Harvey’s father opened the door as they struggled to stuff her in the bag.
“Good thinking, Harvey,” he said upon seeing them. “That’s the only way to get rid of those banana wackos. Here, let me help you out.”
